Coach Archery

Coaching is essential to help archers develop, enjoy taking part and stay in the sport. To get started in coaching all you need to be is enthusiastic about archery and the progression of others.

Training Courses

We offer a range of training courses to help you advance your coaching skills, whether you coach in schools, clubs or in the leisure sector.

We have curated great content from around the web to help you discover fresh ideas and reflect on your personal approach to coaching.

Our 'Scoop it' board is updated regularly to keep you in touch with all the latest information from the world of coaching.

Coaching Young People

What makes your session unmissable for young people? Young people are not all the same and want experiences that are tailored to them - coaches need to understand their motivations, their likes, dislikes, hopes and dreams if they are to offer sessions young people want to return to.

Research has found that behaviour can vary from month to month, even week to week rather than always be the same and a positive experience for one young person might be very different to another. This series of animations and guides aims to help coaches see that young people are seeking meaningful experiences and need a reason to come back next week.

See the animation to see how you can make your session unmissable.

We recommend that archery in schools is delivered by either an Archery GB qualified Leader, Instructor or Level 1 coach. Find out more from the Archery in Schools section.

Coaching in a school setting is unique and requires a special set of skills and knowledge base. Coaching in School Sport from Youth Sport Trust and Youth Sport Direct, is an online learning tool designed to provide the knowledge, information and insight required by coaches for working in the school environment.

Many coaches enjoy learning from working with other coaches in a collaborative environment. To find out more about coaching opportunities in your area, contact your local County Coaching Organiser.
